Silver Lining

This is the piece I made for the Luminarium for their 25 exhibition entitled: Silver.  The idea behind this piece was inspired by a song called "A Nightmare to Remember" by Dream Theater and if you look close, you can make out some of the lyrics in this piece.  The section of the song I quoted is as follows:

Hopelessly drifting,
Bathing in beautiful agony.
I am endlessly falling,
Lost in this wonderful misery.
In peaceful sedation, I lay half awake
And all of the panic inside starts to fade. 

Considering that the album the song is on is called "Black Clouds and Silver Linings" you can tell in this part of the song that something terrible is happening, but at the same time the person in this song is almost making peace with what is happening to them, and that's what I tried to show through this piece.  I think there are times in everyone's lives where we might be dealing with some issues, but it's important to remember that these experiences are what truly build character in a person.  So stay optimistic in the midst of chaos people!
