Really makes me think of what exactly a self portrait is. A lot of times when people think of self portrait, they just think a picture of yourself, and other times it's things that kind of define you as a person. I tried to combine both elements of those and kind of make a mockery of it all.

For one, this is hardly an accurate depiction of me. People have asked me if I modeled before and I've always told them, no I'm a normal person with a good camera and knowledge of how to set up decent lighting and make decent touch ups in photoshop (though this pic didn't have much edits other than RAW processing). I think it's kind of pathetic that I took 50 pictures of me and after taking every picture, I felt just a little more pathetic than before lol. And maybe it has something to do with the fact that when I'm looking through these pictures once they're on my computer and I'm like, this couldn't look any faker than it is now, whether it's my creepy and forced smile, or my "I'm going to possess your soul" looking eyes. So one must ask the question when they take a pictures of themselves, "Is this really me?" And my answer for this picture is no, this is hardly me. I guess the main reason I do this is to show what "looking attractive" is really all about. I guarantee if you meet me in real life and you think I'm going to have that shiny hair and shimmering arms at all times, you're going to be very disappointed.

To conclude, don't worry about trying to look good 24/7, the people who love and care for you aren't going to care either way because they love you for who you are, not how you looked on that particular day on that particular hour and that particular minute. Take care everyone
