Long to Connect by Genesis-Orbit Long to Connect by Genesis-Orbit
I don't want to tell the exact description here since this concerns someone who could still be visiting my dA page and looking at my artwork. This is one of the most religious pieces I've done to date so if you want to read the whole description, go here.

Hope you like this and I strongly advice you to read the description if you want to know more about my "religious experiences" as of late. Thanks, and make sure to check out Konvulse's entire pack: Faith.

Much more to come friends :)

Its a beautiful piece, though I personally prefer my interpretation than the actual description.

I don't see why you can't still be friends with someone just because they don't belive in god. My best friend believes in god while I don't and that has never caused an issue between us. You just have to accept that its their decision.

Well I guess you could say this was more of an art therapy piece. Sometimes it's good to do art to get over something, even if it isn't completely resolved because it helps clear thoughts and what not.

At the time, well there was just more to it than not being a friend because he didn't believe in God. I guess there is just a fine line between being someone's friend and caring for them, and being his friend was the hardest part after everything that happened. It's kind of like how couples might break up because they know they aren't doing any good being together, so they break up out of hope that each one of them finds what they're looking for. I care about him, but sometimes being friends isn't the best way of showing someone they care. Kindness in love comes in many forms, and that's something we all got to learn to understand :)

Wow this is great...It's awesome to know that there's another artist on DA that's a christian who'd unashamed of expressing their feelings about God and their faith.
Beautiful colors and shapes...AWESOME!!:)

This is really, truly beautiful. Both the meaning and the image represented. I really think your concept fits very well with the form that this piece took. It's inspiring to see others actually vocalize their faith in their work, I still struggle to do that. I'm still so very afraid to say what some of my works really mean to me; while most think it's just about happy shiny things, I'm afraid to say what I really want to say with them, and for doing that straight up, I really respect you.

Also it is so hard to find a good friend who truly shares the same beliefs as you, and even harder to deal with them turning away from it. Personally I have not been able to find anyone in school lately who i could connect with at all, and it has been making my work very stagnant, not having everyday conversation, inspiration, or others just to share experiences with.

I'm inspired to see this piece and your reconnection with God, and I hope someday I have the guts to make work that speaks as loudly, too.

You just can't put your faith over your friends.
Your friends love you way more than your so-called god and that's obvious, because they do things as a display of love. God simply doesn't (nobody even knows if he does exist and I, personally, think it's pretty impossible). And that's letting aside religion, because thinking that your god is the one you chose just because it's plain frivolity. Fighting over it is even worse.
I suggest you to question things in life a little bit more.

Thanks for your input, but I fail to see how it's obvious that my friends love me more than God. And I really don't see how the existence of God is impossible when there isn't physical evidence to either prove or disprove him. I think faith in general is important to have too, and regardless of the fact that it might make me look foolish trusting in something I can't see, it comes from within you and I think it's pretty easy to say it's a load of crap if you never had faith to begin with

Has that so-called god done something for you? and if he has, hasn't he done enough bad things to you as to make you forget the good things he gave you? Your friends display much more love in that way, and that's undeniable.
Would your arrogant god give his life for you? He doesn't even help you half the times you need him. Guess what, many of your friends would :), or at least many of mine would do so for me.
So god doesn't really "love" you, it's more accurate not to attach human feelings to him.
"There isn't physical evidence to either prove or disprove him":
RIGHT, i'm an agnostic myself and I know that, but it's not really clever to think of him as the god that's described in your version of the bible. If I thought of superman as my god you should respect me as much as I would respect you for believing in your sci-fi god. You can't describe something that's so many times beyond us with our limited languages wich aren't even able to describe the whole spectrum of human emotions. It's really unwise to attach simple human feelings and perceptions to something that is supposed to be so far from our existence. The only fact that's making you think of your god as the "correct" one is the fact that it's wordly popular. And that's messing your friendship. Do you think that's right?

I'm sorry for my english, it's a big gap to surpass when it comes to talking about deep isues.

Yeah he has, he died on the cross to save me from my sins. And I don't think God is capable of doing evil, so I don't know where you are getting that from.
And yes, my "arrogant" God has given his life for me, his name was Jesus.

Look, I appreciate your thoughts on this but I'd rather just let it rest for now. Sorry if it seems like I'm chickening out (seriously I know it does) but maybe we can debate another time, I'm sorry man but I'm just don't want to bring up something that I'm over (and I'm friends with the guy again so w/e lol).

like the description. i have a cousin who somewhat recently converted to mormonism. i could not believe it and neither could his family who are devout christians. it has been really tough. but even the in the hard and confusing times God is still God, He is still good and He is in still in control.

The piece is very well done, and the meaning behind it makes it even better. It gives me "Creation of Adam" vibes. A sort of a modern statement of that sort of religious connection. It's really great.

The colors, brushing, and render are all top notch. But I've got to admit that without reading that description, I don't think anyone can really get at what you were going for in this piece.

Excellent job! :)

i like the description you gave in the link. Also... lately i've been going through the same experience with God.,.. losing faith, to the point i couldn't feel Him anymore. I was probably waaay to the bottom left of this deviation, only just a month ago. But well, what had happened right after brought Him back to my life. And im only too happy now. I like this one .. a lot. I never would have thought it was a religious piece, but i love the little bow-like things that reach out - trying to connect.
